What Are Your Opening Hours?

Outside those hours, leave a message or send the job details through and it gets picked up when we open. If it is a genuine emergency, fallen powerlines, smoke or flames, that is 000 rather than an electrician. If your whole street is out, that is a network fault and AusNet on 13 17 99 is the right call.

Do You Offer Emergency Electrician Services?

Urgent faults we attend same-day where possible: a burning smell or scorch marks at the switchboard, safety switches that trip and won’t reset, partial loss of power to the house, and sparking power points. If your whole street is out, that’s a network issue for AusNet, not an electrician, and knowing that saves you a call-out.

One thing worth doing before you ring: stop resetting it. A safety switch that trips repeatedly is telling you something on that circuit is leaking current to earth. Each reset hides the fault a little longer. Isolate that circuit at the board and leave it off. If the fault traces back to an ageing board, the fix is usually a switchboard upgrade rather than a patch, and we’ll tell you which one you actually need.

What drives the price is scope, not postcode. A single power point swap sits at the small end. A switchboard upgrade depends on circuit count, mains cable condition and whether the meter box enclosure needs replacing. The fix is usually straightforward and often rolls into a board upgrade. You get written documentation either way, for your records or your agent’s file.

For buyers: a pre-purchase inspection flags outdated fuse boxes, non-compliant wiring and missing safety switches before you settle, which is negotiating leverage or a dodged bullet, depending on what we find.

Who Can Install an EV Charger at Home in Melbourne?

The part most people miss: the charger is the easy bit. A 7kW unit draws around 32 amps continuously for hours, and plenty of boards, especially in older Berwick and Beaconsfield homes, were never sized for that. Newer estate homes in Clyde North usually have space on the board, but space is not the same as spare supply, particularly in an all-electric house with induction cooking and a heat pump.
